The School of Information Technology

Halmstad University consists of four interdisciplinary Schools and the current position is located at the School of Information Technology (ITE). ITE is a multicultural school with around 130 employees from 20 different countries. It is a strong research and education environment, with focus on smart technology and its applications. Students and researchers are working with everything from AI and information driven care to autonomous vehicles, social robotics and digital design. ITE offers education on all levels, from undergraduate to PhD education, plus education for professional. Research is conducted within aware intelligent systems, smart electronic systems, cyber physical systems and digital service innovation. These four areas constitute the four technology areas of ITE . An innovation centre for information driven care called Leap for Life is connected to ITE, as well as a collaboration arena for electronic development, Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH).

Description

This announcement is for a temporary position as a university lecturer (universitetsadjunkt) for 75% during the spring semester of 2023. The work is intended to contribute mainly to the teaching activities of the School of Information Technology (ITE) at Halmstad University. The position starts on January 1st, 2023.

Duties

Work assignments are directly connected to the courses given within the educational programs Computer Engineer, 180 credits, and Computer Science and Engineering, 300 credits. As a university lecturer, your tasks will be to lead, develop and perform teaching activities on both basic and advanced levels. The primary duties of the appointed lecturer will be to teach computer engineering courses at the bachelor's and master's levels. Depending on the candidate's prior experience, thesis supervision at the bachelor's and master's levels. The specific courses to teach are related to computer architecture and hardware-related programming, such as Digital Design and Computer Organization, Edge Computing and Internet of Things, Computer Systems Organization, and Advanced Object Oriented Programming.

Qualifications

The position requires at least a Master's degree and experience in research activities in computer engineering. Substantial merit is if a possible candidate has documented teaching experiences within any of the subjects or courses mentioned above. Potential candidates with experience from thesis supervision at the bachelor's and Master's levels are desirable.

You must work in a structured way, independently and with the rest of the computer engineering team. You must be willing to take responsibility for development processes since computer engineering is constantly developing. Fluent English and strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.

Salary

Salary is to be determined by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
